From year-round maintenance to beautiful hardscape installations, and all in between, Tar Heel Landscape Enterprises offers a one-stop solution for all your landscaping design needs.
Let us provide a customized proposal to keep your property looking the way you envision! Year round maintenance programs typically include all or most of the following elements:
Routine mowing (whether weekly or bi-weekly in some industrial settings), trimming, and edging
Complete turf management: soil testing, fertilization, liming, weed control, aeration, and re-seeding or over-seeding.
Soil amendments, pruning, and insect control. Routine annual flower bed change-outs and maintenance, etc.
Periodic mulch replenishment in plant beds and improved natural areas
Weed control in mulched areas, hard surfaces, natural areas, etc.
Leaf removal in the fall includes vacuuming and hauling away leaves that cannot be dissipated on-site.
Site cleaning at regular intervals (blowing of hard surfaces and litter/natural debris removal).
Manage water system to maintain lawn, garden beds, and trees. Maintain current irrigation system, and improve it to increase efficiency. Spring startup and fall winterization of irrigation system is included.
Give priority in the provision of additional services potentially needed by our clients such as: fallen-tree removal, snow and ice removal, storm clean-up, etc.
Drainage Solutions
We have the ability to solve most outdoor drainage problems that exist on your property. Many of these solutions will also drastically reduce or eliminate water that might be getting into structures! We try to avoid “French drains” and other solutions that depend on the porosity of soils, aggregates, fabrics, etc., if at all possible. Typically, these systems are short lived in our area because they are rapidly stopped up with fine soil or organic particles. Pumps are also a last resort solution because of the initial expense and loss of function in the case of power failures.
We always like to begin with proper grading — that is to have a positive slope to allow water move downhill towards an acceptable runoff area on the surface. Grading is usually the least expensive and simplest approach to solving drainage issues – and there are no pipes to stop up
If there are no positive slope options, we are frequently able to create a gravity enabled drainage system using appropriately-sized catch basins and piping.
At times, a dry creek bed or walkway may be an aesthetic means to carry away surface water
Exterior Lighting

Allows the system to be switched on and off manually, or come or on and off automatically (at specific times, dusk/dawn, or combination of both).

We now use modern LED light emitters that last about 10 times as long as the old-style bulbs. These systems provide enduring service to our customers through the use of commercial grade transformers and fixtures.
Low voltage will not harm people or pets, since it only uses up to 15 volts of electricity.

This service is simply "cleaning up" or reclaiming a landscape or yard. There may be no new elements or very few. Our knowledge of how shrubs and trees will react to major pruning helps determine whether to cut them back or remove them. The cost is minimal compared with completely re-doing everything. What seems overwhelming or costly to many property owners can be taken care of in short order by our team - many times in as little as one day! Examples include:
